Obama: Clinton Should Not Get Florida and Michigan Delegates
Summary from multiple countries, from articles in English
Democratic leaders in Florida have set out a proposal to re-stage the state's primary in a bid to resolve a row over whether its January ballot counts. (article 3) Florida and Michigan were stripped of delegates to the national convention, where the party's presidential nominee is chosen, after breaking party rules. (article 3) WASHINGTON Democrats in Florida met with the state's Republican governor today to try to resolve the dilemma over the state's delegation to the Democratic National Convention but no immediate resolution appeared. (article 4) TALLAHASSEE, FLA. Florida's Democratic Party chairwoman urged Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama, the national party and the state's congressional delegation to consider a combined mail-in and in-person vote as a redo of the Jan. 29 presidential primary. (article 5) Party officials and the campaigns negotiated on Thursday, and state Democratic leaders were hopeful that an agreement could be reached on Friday, said Democratic officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the talks. (article 1) The latest delegate count posted on shows that Hillary's lead among super delegates, once a comfortable 60 votes, has now been cut almost in half to 36 delegates. (article 10)
