STORY SO FAR: Jade Emperor, learning of Monkey's great mischief, sends Vaisravana, his best general, and thousand of soldiers to Earth, with orders to arrest Monkey. LED by Vaisravane, one hundred thousand heavenly soldiers arrived at the Mountain of Flowers and Fruits and surrounded Monkey's Cave of the Water Curtain. Ten thousand monkeys were fanned out in front of his palace under a red and gold flag upon which was written: MAGNIFICENT MONKEY KING, GREATEST OF ALL. Stone Monkey, having led the monkey clan through the waterfall to the Cave of The Water Curtain, becomes Magnificent Monkey King and ponders what to do next. Sitting on his jeweled throne, surrounded by his beloved monkeys, Monkey should have had the happiest day of his life. STORY SO FAR: When the Magician Lang fails to defeat Monkey, the Goddess Guan-yin flings down a magic vase which falls atop Monkey and traps him. STORY SO FAR: Monkey, having saved his clan from the Demon of Havoc, brings the monkeys home but promises he will now do something very important. The child looked around again and shouted, " Is there anybody here who was born from a stone?.

Simon Cowell and the rest of the judges had the wayback machine set to the 1960s on "American Idol" Tuesday night. For the most part, the 12 male contestants who performed didn't quite know how to take classic songs from the decade and make them their own.

Film moguls tearful at the demise of the Harry Potter series - the most lucrative film franchise in cinema history - have decided to ease their sorrow by splitting the final instalment into two films. The five Harry Potter films released so far have made $2.20 billion at the box office, surpassing receipts from 22 James Bond films ($2.18 billion) and six Star Wars films ($2.08 billion). Producers are expected to announce Thursday that J.K. Rowling's last "Potter" installment, " Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be split into two parts on the big screen.
