Clinton and Obama campaigns hurl new accusations (U.S., 45 articles)
The Obama campaign has said several times that experience is no substitute for judgment, pointing out that Clinton voted to authorize the Iraq war in 2002. HOUSTON, Texas White House hopeful Hillary Clinton announced Thursday that she raised $35 million in February for what her campaign chiefs say is still a vibrant campaign for president. Clinton, the New York senator and former first lady, campaigned in the state last week, but by Monday was in Pennsylvania, where the primary is April 22. Clinton had compared Obama's landslide victory in South Carolina's Jan. 26 primary to Jesse Jackson's wins in the state in 1984 and 1988. This came as former New York Congresswoman and vice-presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro quit a position on the Clinton campaign's finance committee. CHICAGO - Strategists for the campaigns of Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton exchanged calculated barbs Sunday over accountability and ethics and who is engaging in personal attacks. Though the campaign has taken some nasty turns, with surrogates and campaign members from each side making controversial attacks on the other, Bill Clinton said, for most Democrats, both candidates look good.

Dallas' Barrow Hanley may lose $1 billion in Bear Stearns downfall (Finance, 33 articles)
With a deal in place to save Bear Stearns from bankruptcy, the company's shares traded above the offer price Monday even as investors began turning a critical eye to other investment banks amid worries about how far the credit contagion could spread. Despite the weekend agreement for JPMorgan Chase & Co. to buy Bear Stearns for a fraction of its value last week, worries that other banks had sizable exposure to troubled credit markets sent global markets tumbling. Several high-profile hedge funds have moved to sever ties with Bear Stearns since Friday's rescue, inflicting further damage on its once market-leading and lucrative prime brokerage business, The Financial Times reported.
