Texas Democratic Party rejects Clinton's caucus verification request
Summary from multiple countries, from articles in English
According to a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey released this afternoon, 50 percent of Democrats said superdelegates are a bad idea, while 42 percent said they are a good idea. (article 20) 63 percent of Democrats surveyed said that Florida and Michigan, whose delegates have been taken away because the primaries were held earlier than the Democratic National Committee allowed, should hold new primaries. (article 20) Another 19 percent said the delegates should be based on the results of the January primaries, which Clinton won, and 15 percent said the delegates from the two states should not be seated at all. (article 20) Thurman said a decision on allowing Florida's delegates to take part in the Democratic convention that will pick a nominee for the November presidential election would have to come from the national party's rules and bylaws committee. (article 6) TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Facing strong opposition, Florida Democrats on Monday abandoned plans to hold a do-over presidential primary with a mail-in vote and threw the delegate dispute into the lap of the national party. (article 7) State chairman Boyd Richie said Texas Democrats will not " set up an unnecessary, ad hoc verification process that could effectively disqualify delegates selected at their precinct conventions after the fact. (article 2)
