Barack Obama secures backing of key superdelegate Bill Richardson (U.S., 50 articles)
|
" Senator Obama speaks passionately on the campaign trail about empowering the American people said the former first lady, who trails her rival in delegates won to date. In a posting on Hillary Clinton's Web site Thursday, the campaign said the former president was simply talking about the need to keep the race focused on issues, " rather than falsely questioning any candidate's patriotism. The rancor began with Clinton's violation of implicit party rules in her saying that the leading DP candidate Obama was not experienced enough as the rival party's nominee to be Commander in Chief. Senator Barack Obama on Friday received a long sought after endorsement from a former rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, in a boost for his campaign after its most difficult month to date. The latest: Two Florida state senators, Jeremy Ring and Steve Geller, are pushing a plan to seat half the state's delegates based on the state's primary, which took place on Jan 29th. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton s hopes of ending the primaries with game-changing victories from new contests in Florida and Michigan grew dim on Tuesday as Florida officially scuttled plans for a new vote and Michigan lawmakers appeared far from a deal.
