Bill and Hillary Clinton bounce back from White House debts with £55m income
Summary from multiple countries, from articles in English
Bill and Hillary Clinton have earned $109 million ($54.9 million) since leaving the White House seven years ago, according to their income tax returns, which the former First Lady's presidential campaign released last night. (article 12) The Clintons left the White House mired in debt stemming from their myriad legal problems, including the marathon Whitewater investigation, which eventually spawned the Monica Lewinsky impeachment saga. (article 12) " The Clintons have now made public 30 years of tax returns, a record matched by few people in public service said a Clinton spokesman, on Friday. (article 9) The Clintons have asked for an extension for filing their 2007 tax returns, citing the dissolution of a blind trust last year. (article 13) Clinton has been under pressure to release her tax returns, especially from rival Sen. Barack Obama, who posted his 2000 to 2006 returns on his campaign Web site last week. (article 13) Clinton's answer came in response to a recent visit the former president made to a San Francisco delegate meeting where a delegate was discussing Richardson's endorsement of Obama. (article 5) Hillary Clinton has been pulling out all the stops to win the Democratic nomination for president but one: she still has not released her family's tax returns. (article 16)
