(article 7) A global index of government bonds from 33 countries compiled by Lehman Brothers has fallen 3 per cent this month, its first decline since December and the worst performance since a fall of 4.3 per cent four years ago. (article 7) Wall Street stocks fell on Friday, cutting short a two-day rally and dragging equity markets down for the week after a survey showed languishing consumer confidence and muted results from Microsoft weighed on technology stocks. (article 4) Ericsson surprised the market with better-than-expected results on Friday, contributing to a buoyant mood that saw the pan-European FTSE Eurofirst 300 index gain 1.1 per cent to 1,330.84. (article 3) The dollar hit a one-month high this week as investors reassessed the prospect of further aggressive monetary easing from the Federal Reserve. (article 9)
