Bob Dylan drawings to be displayed at London gallery (Entertainment, 5 articles)
Rather than turn out yet another dutiful, linear chronicle of childhood trauma and grown-up substance abuse, Mr. Haynes has produced a dizzying palimpsest of images and styles, in which his subject appears in the form of six different people. Shot in February 1963, the photo would come to epitomize the romantic youth culture of the time - its freedom and fragility, its rootlessness and sense of purpose. " I figured they 'd choose one of Bob by himself, so it was astounding, really surprising. Curator Kerstin Drechsel holds Three Chairs by Bob Dylan for an exhibition in Chemnitz, eastern Germany, last year. (Matthias Rietschel/Associated Press) An exhibit of musician Bob Dylan's art will be on display in London this spring, featuring drawings and sketches from the singer's time on the road between 1989 and 1992. The Halcyon Gallery announced Friday that fans will be able to peruse the art starting June 14, at an exhibit called The Drawn Blank Series. " This is an incredible opportunity for viewing this powerful body of work, which gives an insight into the artist's soul and which have already been the subject of widespread critical acclaim the gallery's president Paul Green told BBC News.

Join Jen and Liz on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Noon ET (just one day before the premiere of "Lost's" fourth season) to discuss this final book in the discussion series. Jen or Liz? Or the Red King, who I certainly would guess is the unseen author in the case of "Through the Looking Glass" and the myriad writers/producers who create " Lost. I 'm interested to hear where Jen and everyone else comes down on Carroll's influence on "Lost's" plotline.
