Obama will not debate Clinton, for now :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Politics (U.S., 88 articles)
Mrs. Clinton won a close race in New Jersey, where voters said that the economy was the most important issue in deciding how to cast their vote, according to exit polls. Democratic primary voters overwhelmingly said that a candidate's ability to bring about needed change was the most important factor in the way they voted, and those voters supported Mr. Obama in large numbers. Missouri could prove to be a crucial swing state in the general election in November; over the last century the state has voted for the winning presidential candidate in every election but one.

California Court Affirms Right to Gay Marriage (U.S., 68 articles)
i. The court's 4-to-3 decision, drawing on a ruling six decades ago that struck down the state's ban on interracial marriage, would make California only the second state, after Massachusetts, to allow same-sex marriages. Forty-one states have laws prohibiting same-sex marriage, according to the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, a nonpartisan institute, while 27 states have constitutional amendments prohibiting same-sex marriage or defining marriage as a union between a man and a women. California's Supreme Court on Thursday overturned a state ban on gay marriage, paving the way for same-sex couples in the country's largest state to tie the knot.

China OKs foreign rescue teams from four countries for quake zone (World, 18 articles)
SEOUL, South Korea - South Korea is sending an emergency rescue team to China to help earthquake victims, the Foreign Ministry said Friday. Officials asked a longtime rival, Japan, to send 60 earthquake rescue experts, the first such team China has accepted from a foreign country during the current crisis and one of the few relief missions China has ever accepted from abroad. The death toll from Monday's earthquake in China could reach as high as 50,000 people, the State Council said on Thursday, as rescue workers still struggled to reach some of the worst affected areas.

Zenit blank Rangers to win UEFA Cup (U.S., 32 articles)
For some time, the screen in Piccadilly Gardens, a "fan zone" where more than 10,000 fans had gathered, showed a message saying that the problem was being sorted out - the images were lost entirely 15 minutes before kick-off. The rampaging Rangers fans who fought police in Manchester's Battle of Piccadilly on Wednesday night were a disgrace and could threaten England's bid to stage the 2018 World Cup, the Prime Minister said yesterday. A mob of Rangers fans who pursued a lone police officer before stamping on his head were described as a "pack of wild wolves" by a senior policewoman yesterday.
