No sign of quit in Clinton as Obama targets McCain (U.S., 52 articles)
Obama, who holds a significant lead in delegates going into Tuesday's contests and is favoured to win the Democratic nomination, has instead focused on targeting presumptive Republican candidate John McCain. WASHINGTON Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton lent her presidential campaign $6.4 million over the past month, her campaign said Wednesday, underscoring the financial advantage held by her rival , Barack Obama. MAYSVILLE, Ky. - Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday that Barack Obama may be getting ahead of himself in acting like the party's nominee before the final primary contests are over. As the battle shifts from the primary to the general election, the campaign must be ready to fight not just Republicans, but Democrats who will seek to dilute the platform of change he has run on. AUGUSTA, Maine Barack Obama defeated Hillary Rodham Clinton in Maine presidential caucuses Sunday, grabbing a majority of delegates as the state's Democrats overlooked the snowy weather and turned out in heavy numbers for municipal gatherings. Sen. Barack Obama has chosen to spend Tuesday night not in Kentucky or Oregon, the two states that will be holding their primaries that day, or even at his home in Chicago.
