Suicide bomber targets Danish embassy in Pakistan
Summary from multiple countries, from articles in English
At least six people have been killed and 30 injured in a car bomb attack near the Danish embassy in the Pakistani capital Islamabad. (article 8) ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) A massive blast targeting the Danish Embassy in Pakistan Monday killed at least six people and wounded as many as 18, authorities said (article 1) The blast will raise fresh questions about the safety of foreigners in Pakistan, even though militant attacks have dropped off since a new government came to power after a February general election vowing to negotiate to end violence. (article 9) The blast is likely to lead to Western pressure on Pakistan's new government to roll back its policy of trying to strike deals with militant groups instead of using military force. (article 2) At least five to six cars were destroyed in the blast which tore the facade of the front of the building and demolished the front gate. (article 4) Police say the dead include two embassy security guards, two policemen, a cleaner at the United Nations Development Program, which was located in front of the embassy, and at least two passers-by, including a young girl. (article 4) The blast echoed through Islamabad and left a crater more than three feet deep in the road in front of the embassy. (article 3)
