Celtics, Lakers centerstage again for NBA finals
Summary from United States, from articles in English
Boston's Big Three shot awfully as did most of the Celtics, but the NBA s top-seeded team stayed competitive for much of the game thanks to a stark disparity in free throws. (article 2) The media mob, armed with cameras, tripods, tape recorders and, yes, even some old-fashioned notepads, gathers in a small room leading to the Lakers' practice court at the team's El Segundo training facility. (article 8) Frank Ramsey was a Hall of Fame forward on the Boston Celtics in the 1950s and 60s, an era when Bill Russell ruled in the paint and the Celtics won 11 NBA titles in 13 years. (article 5) The Celtics and Lakers have met 10 times in the NBA Finals, most recently in 1986-87, a series the Lakers won 4-2. (article 11) With a 100-92 victory over the San Antonio Spurs, the team that began the season as an NBA joke is now just four wins from an NBA championship. (article 12) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce walked together, sporting black hats with green four-leaf clovers, and tried to soak up the moment when both superstars became conference champions for the first time. (article 3)
