PARIS, France (CNN) A funeral will be held Thursday for international fashion icon Yves Saint Laurent, who died Sunday night at his home in Paris, his longtime friend and business associate Pierre Berge told CNN Monday. Saint Laurent was the last of an era of fashion designers that included Coco Chanel and Christian Dior, for whom Saint Laurent worked until Dior's death in 1957. Pinault sold the commercial arm of the business to Gucci Group IV, whose creative director, Tom Ford, took over as designer of Saint Laurent ready-to-wear. " The word seduction has replaced the word elegance in fashion a French TV commentator said in 1967 about Mr. Saint Laurent's impact on the industry.
