Landis: Doping or Just a Dope?
Summary from United States, from articles in English
The lab apparently has fresh evidence that Floyd Landis cheated in last year's Tour de France and as usual, its findings wound up in the newspaper L'Equipe before you could say " n'est pas. (article 1) Attorneys for Floyd Landis began trying to paint a picture yesterday of incompetence at the French laboratory where the cyclist's urine was tested. (article 3) While Floyd Landis s former manager prepared to enter rehab yesterday, a witness for Landis testified he had grave concerns about the evidence being used to prove the Tour de France champion's positive doping test. (article 5) Landis contends poor testing methods are responsible for unreliable results that call into question the validity of the positive test from last year's Tour. (article 5) Geoghegan called Greg LeMond last Wednesday night and, posing as LeMond's uncle, threatened to reveal the secret that LeMond had been sexually abused as a child if LeMond showed up to testify. (article 5) " I kept fighting, never stopped believing Landis told the crowd at the victory ceremony with the Arc de Triomphe forming a dramatic backdrop. (article 2) Landis beat Spaniard Oscar Pereiro by 57 seconds to win the 2,272-mile journey across two mountains ranges in 89 hours 39 minutes 30 seconds. (article 2)
