Detentions over Indonesia clashes
Summary from multiple countries, from articles in English
Indonesian have detained 57 members of a hard-line Muslim group following violence at a rally for religious tolerance, officials say. (article 3) Police rounded up several members of the Islamic Defenders' Front (FPI) at the group's headquarters and at several houses in Jakarta early on Wednesday morning, saying that some of them were suspected of being involved in the attacks. (article 4) About a dozen people were injured on Sunday when FPI supporters wielding bamboo sticks attacked members of the National Alliance for Freedom of Religion and Faith. (article 4) A leader of one of Indonesia's hardline Muslim groups has told his followers to "prepare for war" after violent clashes with liberal Muslim demonstrators. (article 2) Habib Riziq heads the hardline Islamic Defenders' Front, or FPI, whose members allegedly attacked a rally in support of religious tolerance on Sunday. (article 2) Inside the gates food stalls are serving cold drinks and fried soy beans to the muffled booming of a megaphone - its message insistent and repetitive: throw the Ahmadiyah out. (article 1) Diyan has come to add her voice to the thousands gathered here, calling on the government to ban the unorthodox Muslim sect because its beliefs differ from mainstream Islam. (article 1)
