'Press' host Tim Russert dies :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Obituaries
Summary from multiple countries, from articles in English
Tim Russert, who rose from a blue-collar background in upstate New York to become one of the most famous faces in political journalism, died today of a massive heart attack after collapsing at the network's Washington Bureau. (article 3) The NBC news personality's surprise death was announced by the network at about 2:40 p.m., prompting an outpouring of tributes from colleagues and competitors alike. (article 3) In that sense, his case was sadly typical: more than 50 percent of all men who die of coronary heart disease have no previous symptoms, the American Heart Association says. (article 18) Our business lost one of its best last week, when NBC's Tim Russert passed away at the age of 58. (article 8) The catastrophic medical event that killed Russert is called sudden cardiac death, a change to the heart that can come on with or without a heart attack. (article 19) "His voice has been stilled began Tom Brokaw, who led the conversation," and our issue this sad Sunday morning is remembering and honouring our colleague and our friend. (article 1) WASHINGTON (CNN) The moderator's chair on NBC's "Meet the Press" stood empty on Sunday in remembrance of Tim Russert, the man who had occupied it for 17 years (article 17)
