Hurricane Bertha Forecast To Stay Just East of Bermuda
Summary from multiple countries, from articles in English
Even though Bertha is forecast to stay East of Bermuda, the island may experience tropical storm force winds and certainly some rain and rough surf. (article 1) As of 11:00 PM on Friday, Bertha has maintained its strength as a category 1 hurricane with winds of 90 mph sustained. (article 1) (NASA/Associated Press) Bermuda's beachgoers and residents were warned to be careful along the islands' shores Friday as Hurricane Bertha whirled closer. (article 2) Around noon AT, a tropical storm watch was issued for the British colony, meaning increasing wind speeds and high waves could pose a threat by late Saturday. (article 2) But Bertha was already producing high surf and large swells in some areas, with the heavy weather expected to continue over the next few days as the storm passes east of the islands. (article 2) Unfortunately for the home side the impending storm isn't due to hit the island until late in the afternoon at the earliest, by which time Scotland are likely to have completed a comfortable victory. (article 4) Sixteen wickets fell yesterday as the visiting team added 42 valuable runs to their overnight score of 240 for seven, and then skittled the home team for 106. (article 4)
