ABC News: Darfur Genocide Warrant for Sudan Pres.

The United Nations said the decision to pull back some non-essential staff came after recent violence and as a precaution after the international prosecutor accused Sudan's president of genocide. (article 3) Judges at the International Criminal Court (ICC), an independent body, have still to decide if there are reasonable grounds to issue an arrest warrant against Mr Bashir. (article 3) The unprecedented decision by the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to seek charges against President Omar al-Bashir of Sudan for genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity has thrown a sharp light on his part in the conflict in Darfur. (article 2) " Strangely the Darfur crisis, according to them the UN, has become the worst humanitarian disaster in the world. (article 2) Top Sudanese officials will soon face war crimes charges after the international prosecutor declared the "whole state apparatus" responsible for a campaign of rape and pillage in Darfur. (article 4) The Panorama TV programme tracked down Chinese army lorries in the Sudanese province that came from a batch exported from China to Sudan in 2005. (article 1) China's government has declined to comment on the BBC's findings, which contravene a UN arms embargo on Darfur. (article 1)
