400 volunteers exceed expectations :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Health News
Summary from United States, from articles in English
Hundreds of volunteers will be at locations throughout the area to help parents register their children for the state's All Kids program, which provides health insurance coverage to kids at a reduced cost. (article 4) There are no income or citizenship requirements to enroll in the program, and kids with pre-existing health conditions are also eligible to apply. (article 4) On Saturday, hundreds of volunteers at locations throughout the city and suburbs processed 1,217 applications for All Kids, exceeding the goal of the 1,000 Healthy Kids & Families campaign sponsored by Resurrection Health Care and the Chicago Sun-Times. (article 2) On Saturday, hundreds of volunteers will be stationed at hospitals, community centers and churches throughout the Chicago area to enroll kids in the program. (article 1) It also winds up costing people with insurance more when uninsured kids and their families use the emergency room as their primary health care provider. (article 3) To do that, a total of 300 volunteers were needed to help families fill out forms and process paperwork at more than 50 locations throughout the area. (article 5) Vicky Penny was able to get health insurance coverage for her daughter eight years ago through Kid Care, the predecessor of All Kids. (article 6)
